  11. This CD contains the Strategy Challenges 1 - Games of the World application and data files.

Strategy Challenges 1 requires the latest versions of the QuickTime™ and Sound Manager extensions to be installed on your system. If you do not already have QuickTime 2.1 or higher and Sound Manager 3.1 or higher, you can use the installer included on this CD to install them. If you do not know whether or not you have the correct version, Strategy Challenges 1 will let you know at startup and let you run the installer. If you already have current versions of these extensions, you do not need to install them.

  19. To install QuickTime 2.5 and Sound Manager 3.2:
  20. 1) Open the “System Extensions Installer ƒ” folder (located on the CD).
  21. 2) Double-click the “System Extensions Installer” icon to start the installer.
  22. 3) Follow the on-screen instructions. You will be required to restart your computer after installing.

Double-click the “Strategy Challenges 1 Startup” icon to run Strategy Challenges 1. Strategy Challenges 1 Startup checks your system then runs either the PowerPC or the 68K version of the program as appropriate for your computer. The PowerPC application is named “Strategy Challenges 1 PPC” and the 68k version is named “Strategy Challenges 1 68k.” If you want to copy the application to your hard drive, you must select the correct version for your computer.

  29. If you have a multisync monitor set to higher than 640x480 resolution, you can set Strategy Challenges 1 to display full-screen (users with smaller monitors automatically run full-screen). To use this feature:
  30. 1) Run Strategy Challenges 1.
  31. 2) Enter the Adult Options by holding down the Command and Option keys and pressing “A.”
  32. 3) Check the “Switch monitor to 640x480 if possible” check box.
  33. Note: Because this feature temporarily changes the size of your desktop, Finder may rearrange the icons on your desktop.

The PowerPC version of Strategy Challenges 1 requires the use of the ObjectSupportLib system extension which may not be installed if your system software is below 7.5. This file is included on the CD. If you choose to copy Strategy Challenges 1 to your hard drive and you do not already have ObjectSupportLib installed, you must copy ObjectSupportLib to the System folder before using the program.

  37. To run the Dear Parents application, your monitor must be set to 256 colors. Use the Monitors Control Panel to change this setting.
